Hutchison earned 15 Scholastic Writing Awards, including two American Voices nominations, at the recent Alliance for Young Writers’ Southeastern competition.
Our girls demonstrated a mastery of storytelling and creativity in genres as varied as science fiction, humor, short story, and poetry.
The four girls who received Gold Keys will move on to compete nationally in March.
In addition, Caroline and Katy were named American Voices nominees, a prestigious regional recognition. From the pool of American Voices nominees, a panel of jurors in New York City selects one writer and one artist from each region to receive an American Voices Medal or an American Visions Medal, the highest regional honor. These medalists are celebrated during national events and at the national exhibition in New York City.
