Twenty-one seniors shared their projects at the myExperience Senior Showcase. Family, friends, mentors, faculty, and staff came to see our seniors share their college-level research projects.
The seven students who received awards of distinction gave speeches about their projects at the showcase. Coco Conrad, one of the seven recipients, produced a documentary featuring student and community leader interviews highlighting the mission and impact of PURE Academy. The nonprofit boarding school focuses on academic excellence, STEM education, and leadership development for young men.
Mattie Ra earned an award of distinction for designing and developing a low-cost adaptive bionic foot prototype. Her creation is engineered to restore natural ankle motion, enhance mobility, and provide a durable, versatile prosthetic solution suitable for both daily activities and athletic use.
Alia Sims received an award of distinction for producing a full-length animated educational video explaining the science and purpose of space travel for broad audiences. Her video was supplemented by a hands-on learning activity for middle school students.
Harper Behnke was given an award of distinction for examining healthcare access in Memphis. She created a comparative patient profile using insights from the Memphis Morning Center and the Engbretson Center for Women.
Maya Pentecost earned an award of distinction for adapting a short story by Edgar Allan Poe into a fully produced one-act play. She oversaw script adaptation, design, production planning, casting, and performance scheduling for a school audience.
Sophia Henderson received an award of distinction for designing a detailed business proposal for a low-cost mobile veterinary clinic. Her plans for a clinic were aimed at providing essential pet healthcare services to underserved communities with limited financial resources or transportation access.
Betsy Halliday was given an award of distinction for creating a photography book of 47 original images capturing quiet, unusual, and overlooked locations. Her goal was to reveal beauty in everyday urban environments and challenge traditional ideas of what is considered visually meaningful.

Seniors Present Capstone Projects at myExperience Senior Showcase
Our 21 graduating seniors of the myExperience program presented their capstone projects with confidence, poise, and enthusiasm.
We were inspired by the innovation, creativity, and dedication on display at the myExperience Senior Showcase! Twenty-one Hutchison seniors celebrated completing their capstone projects by presenting them to family, mentors, faculty and staff, and friends. The flagship program within Hutchison’s Institute for Responsible Citizenship, myExperience is a multi-year opportunity that allows a girl to select from one of four cohorts: STEM, Business Leadership, Art & Design, and Global Civic Engagement. Each girl then studies an area of interest in depth and develops a college-level research project related to that interest. The development of her project includes working with a professional mentor, completing a summer internship or other relevant experience, and working with other girls to plan a trip to a U.S. city where each girl could explore their cohort’s area of focus in detail.
At our Senior Showcase, we celebrated our seniors' hard work and success by providing the opportunity for our girls to share their final projects with family, friends, mentors, faculty, and staff. Here are some of the projects our girls completed:
Designing and developing a low-cost adaptive bionic foot engineered to restore natural ankle motion, enhance mobility, and provide a durable, versatile prosthetic solution suitable for both daily activities and athletic use

All of the projects were impressive, and students were articulate and enthusiastic as they talked about their work and what they learned. Seven awards of distinction were given out to the following students: Harper Behnke, Coco Conrad, Betsy Halliday, Sophia Henderson, Maya Pentecost, Mattie Ra, and Alia Sims. We are proud of how our girls have grown through the myExperience program. Congratulations to all of our senior myExperience graduates!
