Hutchison Senior Selected for Prestigious Leadership Scholarship
Cooper Matthews '17 has been awarded Southern Methodist University's Hunt Leadership scholarship.
We are excited to announce that senior Cooper Matthews has been awarded Southern Methodist University's Hunt Leadership scholarship from among 700 applicants nationwide. This year the Hunt Leadership Scholarship was awarded to 25 students with extraordinary leadership qualities and strong academic performance.
While at Hutchison, Cooper has distinguished herself as a scholar, leader, and athlete. She currently serves as student council president and is the founder and president of the government club. Cooper is a four-year member of Hutchison’s trap shooting team. As a freshman, she was the Tennessee junior varsity state champion and the US national runner-up; in 11th grade, she was the district and regional champion. She was recently named to the All-State team.
