Choir Receives High Honors at National Music Competition
Hutchison's Vocal Point choir won first place and a gold ranking at a major U.S. music festival and has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.
At the WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival competition in New Orleans, Hutchison’s Vocal Point choral group, under the direction of Ms. Leiza Collins, was awarded a Gold ranking, earning first place in their division with scores of 94/95/96 out of 100 from the three-judge panel.
Sarah Austin ’17 and Olivia Wilkinson ’17 received outstanding vocalist and ovation awards, respectively. Vocal Point’s impressive performance has earned the group an invitation to perform at New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall.
