  • Cultivating Lifelong Learners

With two libraries housing a collection of more than 60,000 books, ebooks, periodicals, archives, and audiovisual materials that enjoy robust circulation, Hutchison students have ample resources for independent and collaborative learning. Staff librarians partner with the teachers for class research projects and other curriculum support.
Early childhood and lower school girls visit the Morrow Children’s Library for classes and to share book talks about the newest books and online reading websites. The library is filled with colorful books and displays that are aligned with the curriculum, and cozy reading nooks.

The Walker Library serves middle and upper school girls. It’s a busy hub for learning with an inviting fireplace, study rooms, a maker space, and individual or group work tables. Constantly changing book displays include new or high interest nonfiction, mysteries, and age-appropriate popular Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction.

Hutchison’s online catalog, Destiny, is always accessible online and through a mobile app. The Destiny homepage also displays links to Hutchison's outstanding collection of extensive subscription databases such as Ebsco’s Academic Search Complete and Gale’s premiere databases including the entire In Context suite. Citation tools include not only Noodle Tools for younger students, but also EasyBib, which allows high school students to learn the increasingly crucial skill of exporting research results to a citation management software. In addition, the library subscribes to three video streaming databases.
