Michelle Lee '19 Lives a Day in the Life of a Radiologist
Michelle Lee '19 has been interested in pursuing a career in the medical field since she was young, but wanted real life experience to gain a deeper insight into the profession before applying to colleges and considering a pre-med track.
Through her internship with radiologists Dr. Jenny Boals and Dr. Jim Boals, Michelle was able to experience imaging and biopsies, and take part in conferences at Margaret West Cancer Center and Methodist Hospital. To further her study, Michelle followed up her hands-on work with research, learning about strokes and the mechanics of the machinery involved in radiology.
Reflecting on the internship, Michelle said she "learned how technological advancements have greatly improved the ability of radiologists to diagnose patients and perform operations."
