Upper School Social Science Teacher Receives DAR Outstanding Teacher Award
Will Askew received an Outstanding American History Teacher award from the local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter.
The Memphis Watauga chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution honored Askew as the Outstanding American History Teacher for March. The DAR award celebrates teachers who have demonstrated excellence in readily sharing their knowledge of American History, showing a commitment to their students, fostering a spirit of patriotism, relating history to modern life and events, and requiring high academic standards at all times from their students. Askew teaches AP U.S. History and AP U.S. Government and Politics.
“I’m honored and humbled to receive this award from a great organization that works so hard to keep the study of the past and the love of our country alive,” Askew said about receiving the award. “I am incredibly fortunate to work with the amazing students at Hutchison who make me excited to come to work. Their eagerness to learn is apparent every day, and they are the reason I love teaching.”
