Senior Capstone Project

Wiener Theater
A student-led adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story, The Masque of the Red Death is a one-act, dark comedy play following the story of Prince Prospero and his court as they do their best to ignore a plague known as the red death. Locked in the seclusion of Prospero’s castle, everything seems to be going well, right up until it isn’t.

The Masque of the Red Death play is one of the capstone projects produced by seniors in Hutchison’s myExperience program. As part of the Art and Design cohort, Maya Pentecost ’26 has adapted the original story into a script, designed most aspects of the production, and is working with an amazing cast and crew composed almost entirely of students to produce the full show.

All proceeds being donated to Hutchison’s theater program.
