Monica Fleck '18 Discovered Her Passions at Hutchison

"I believe Hutchison has prepared me so well for any college experience, academically. Through my participation in the Science Research Fellows program, I have also discovered the areas of STEM that truly interest me beyond the classroom." - Monica Fleck '18
Monica Fleck is a dedicated scholar, long-time violist and ballet dancer, and National Merit Commended Student. Like a dancer, Monica Fleck '18 maneuvers across academic disciplines with ease. Although she likes to focus on math and science, she brings a thoughtful and insightful energy to all of her classes. Having taken a full AP schedule since her junior year, Monica demonstrates a fierce determination to challenge herself academically.

Outside of the classroom, Monica’s extra-curricular commitments are numerous. She is a member of the student council, a Science Research Fellow, and an accomplished musician and dancer. A long-time violist, Monica will be the last original member to graduate from Hutchison’s orchestra. She recently joined the nation's top performing high school musicians as a member of the 2017 All-National Honor Ensembles, Symphony Orchestra. Not content just with music, Monica is an accomplished ballet dancer and has studied with Ballet Memphis for several years, devoting hours each week to rehearsals and performances throughout the year.

We are proud of all Monica has accomplished during her time at Hutchison and look forward to the wonderful things she will do in college and in her career!
