Hutchison Serves Girls Attend Books from Birth Luncheon

Nine Hutchison Serves girls attended the annual Books from Birth Luncheon to benefit literacy in the Memphis Community.
Chrissy Haslam, Tennessee First Lady, Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, and Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell Jr. were among speakers about literacy development in the Mid-South.

Servant leadership is an important aspect of the Hutchison experience. Hutchison Serves seeks to instill in a girl a genuine interest in giving back to the community and having a meaningful impact on others. Hutchison Serves is integrated from early childhood through to upper school.

Books from Birth has promoted kindergarten readiness and strengthens family bonds across Shelby County. Children receive books each month which help them work directly to improve reading skills before entering kindergarten.

Community partnerships are a strong part of Hutchison Serves where girls meet with, plan, and work together with many of Memphis’ nonprofit and community organizations. These partnerships involve all ages of Hutchison girls.
