Girls Excel in National Latin Exam & TN Convention

Upper School girls applied their world language abilities to win fourth place in their division at the Tennessee Junior Classical League (TJCL) Latin Convention. Several girls also recently won Awards for their achievements on the National Latin Exam.
The TJCL Latin Convention has competition categories including Essay writing, reading comprehension, mixed media, vocal performances, models and visual art. They won 4th in their size division as a group and every Hutchison girl in attendance won a ribbon.
 
Sally Crow ’19 and Grace Ellsworth ’21 won awards for both first and second place for their Essays, Dramatic Latin, and Mixed Media work. Phebe Rowland ’19 won second place with her essay. Among fourth and fifth place winners were: Sarah Jane Mednikow ’20, Isabelle Sharp ’20, Madison Smith ’20, and Sadie Ann Wells ’21. They placed in the top five for Dramatic Latin, Essays, Mixed Media, Models, Mosaics, Reading Comprehension, and Vocal Performance categories. See the complete list of winners below:
