Senior Named Finalist for Competitive University Leadership Program
Senior Cooper Matthews has been selected as a finalist for Southern Methodist University's Hunt Leadership Scholars Program. She is one of 76 finalists chosen from more than 700 applications.
While at Hutchison, Cooper has distinguished herself as both a scholar and leader. Her favorite courses include AP Comparative Government, Honors Physics, and AP English. She currently serves as student council president and as the founder and president of the government club. Cooper is a four-year member of Hutchison’s trap shooting team. As a freshman, she was the Tennessee junior varsity state champion and the US national runner-up; in 11th grade, she was the district and regional champion. She was recently named to the All-State team. Cooper will travel to Dallas in late March for her finalist interview. Congratulations!
