Hutchison 9th grader Kendall Morgan was honored by the Memphis Fire Department during upper school convocation for her level-headed response in a crisis. She was recently in the car with her dad when she noticed what she thought was a child driving a car sporadically. She also noticed a small child in the back of the car waving his arms. Kendall made her father stop, jumped out of the car, and was able to stop the other car and get the four-year-old out of the back seat. The driver, a grandmother, was having a seizure. Kendall's dad called 911, and the fire department arrived. The Memphis Fire Department emphasized how important Kendall's service to this family was when they said, "The definition of a hero is an ordinary person who does an extraordinary thing. What she did is not the act of a good samaritan, but rather a great samaritan." We are so proud of Kendall and her commitment to helping others during their time of need.
