Inspiring Responsible Citizenship

Recently this Hutchison girl and her mom took advantage of her flexible Wednesday academic schedule to volunteer locally.
Fifth Grader Lilly Cousins ‘27 and her mom are always on the hunt for ways to volunteer in Memphis together. Recently they took advantage of Lilly’s flexible Wednesday academic schedule to volunteer with the Neighborhood Christian Center to pack food boxes for those in need while also maintaining recommended safe distancing.

When asked what she learned from this volunteer experience, Lilly said “I’ve never really had a chance to think about how fortunate I am. At my house, I have a full pantry of food. Every day I get breakfast, lunch, and dinner when lots of people don’t get meals. I have wanted to do something like this for a while.”
