Hutchison Varsity Athletes Named All Americans

After winning their sixth consecutive TGLA lacrosse state championship, three Hutchison Sting varsity athletes have earned further accolades.
Griffin Gearhardt '17, Elizabeth Farnsworth '18, and Jenny Davis '16 have been named All American Athletes for the state of Tennessee! According to the U.S. Lacrosse organization, in order to be named an All American in lacrosse, girls must have played in a majority of their teams’ games for the current season; be significant contributors to their team; be of outstanding character; and be in good academic standing in their school. Only 6 girls in our division in the state of Tennessee were selected for this honor.

In addition to the All American awards, Gearhardt and Daisye Rainer '17 were named Academic All Americans. According to the U.S. Lacrosse organization, a U.S. Lacrosse All-Academic Athlete is one who exhibits exemplary lacrosse skills, good sportsmanship on the field, and represents high standards of academic achievement in the classroom. In order to receive this award, players must be a junior or senior; must have played in a majority of their teams’ games for the current season; must be a starter or significant contributor to their team; must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.7; and should have left their mark beyond the lacrosse field and classroom by making significant contributions of service to the school and/or community.

We are so proud of these girls for receiving this national recognition for their hard work, dedication, and success both in the classroom and on the field during the 2015-2016 school year.
