Learning from the Pros
Aspiring artists at Hutchison benefit greatly from having professional artists as teachers. The dedicated fine arts faculty serves as inspiration while opening doors to the local arts community. Through faculty contacts, girls have opportunities for performance and volunteer opportunities on and off campus. Each year, girls participate in professional and pre-professional Internships and Fellowships with regional arts organizations. Hutchison students are also consistently recognized in the prestigious national Scholastic Art Award competition (44 awards in 2016). These accomplishments are the product of a unique partnership – one that exists between our girls and the professional artists who inspire and challenge them in the classroom.
Day and extended day Artist Residencies and Arts Academy offerings in the afternoon, evening, and weekends continue to build artistic skills and experience and resumes.

"It is a teacher's job not only to teach skill but to inspire them and stretch them creatively."
