Auditions: String Orchestra & Jazz Ensemble

Both Hutchison girls and students in 5-12 grade from the community are invited to audition for either the String Orchestra or the newly founded Contemporary Jazz Ensemble on Wednesday, September 7, after school from 2:30-4:30 pm.
Students will perform a short, 2-3 minute piece (or a section of a larger work) that they have prepared in advance and attempt a sight reading exercise. Each audition should be no more than 5 minutes long. The string orchestra is accepting students who play violin, viola, cello, and upright bass. The Contemporary Jazz Ensemble is open to any instrumentalist who desires to grow as a contemporary and jazz musician. If you are interested in auditioning, register online through the Center for Excellence here or just plan to show up and complete the audition form at the audition.
